Arboretum Virtualis | XII
I have lived my entire life in and around this biome. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of playing in these forests alone and with friends; coming across a myriad of beasts, and fantasizing about mythical ones.
The taiga is still one of the places I retreat to when I need a breather from everyone and everything in the rat race.
A magical kingdom indeed!
An inspiration for Tolkien and Howard.
Not seen so long? how are you?
I know, I’m sorry. I’m spending so much time trying to network, and prepare for juried exhibitions and competitions. I barely have any time to blog my own stuff.
Usually, I try to make my rounds to all of the blogs that I follow, and there are many of them. It’s hard to keep up.
Thanks for calling on me again. I appreciate it.
Wish you all the very best for competitions and exhibitions!
No place like home.
So true.
The need to return to our roots seemingly gets stronger when we get older.
Those roots, those experiences, are so dear to me.
After all, they’ve contributed considerably to what made me into who I’ve become today.
Love that hint of light. I can see why this place is your go to retreat.
Wünsche eine gute neue Woche liebe Grüße Gislinde
And to you, Gislinde.
This looks like Fangorn Forest from Lord of the Rings. Forbidding until you know its secrets.
A forest full of mysteries and hidden dreams. And maybe some unknown beings, too?
Intimately lit, looks like a perfect refuge.
I’ll never stop liking a good trek through the forest.
liked the moody feel 🙂
Great composition with this BW shot. It looks like a cozy kind of place, the kind place that protective parents don’t like their kids wandering around in. I suppose the more you spend (spent) time there, the better you know your way around and each leaf and plant does not look the same.
As a kid, I love wandering among the tall trees and the muddy ground. Unfortunately my parents were the over-protective kind so these adventures of mine didn’t last. Still, I do enjoy wandering through a bush hiking trail whenever I can these days 😀 Wandering through such places, the silence is golden. Such a stark contrast from the rushy city life.
Good luck with your art and exhibitions.
Thank you so much, Mabel. Try to get out of the city now and again.
